Need something cut but don't need a whole machine? Send us your files and we'll handle the rest. Precision cutting and engraving in timber, acrylic, leather, fabric, card and more. See what we make →
Got an idea but no CAD file? We can help translate your concept into precision-ready vector files optimised for laser cutting. From napkin sketch to production-ready.
All lease plans include scheduled maintenance, consumable replacements, and priority technical support. We keep your machine running at peak performance so you can focus on making.
Every lease includes hands-on training covering machine operation, safety protocols, material handling, and software basics. Get productive from day one with expert guidance.
Scaling up? We handle production runs from small batch to full production. Consistent quality, competitive pricing, and reliable delivery timelines for your business needs.
We run a CO₂ laser, so we can't cut metal — we'd rather tell you now than waste your time. We can engrave anodised aluminium, glass and slate beautifully, but if your job needs steel or aluminium cut through, we'll point you to someone who can.
WE ALSO WON'T CUT PVC, VINYL, POLYCARBONATE OR ABS — THEY RELEASE TOXIC FUMES
One machine, one monthly rate, everything covered. We maintain it, we replace the tube when it goes, and we train your people. You provide the bench, the power and the extraction.
Rates are indicative and confirmed after a site assessment · 12-month minimum term
Not included: cutting materials, fume extraction, electricity, and insurance of the machine at your premises
Getting a laser in your workshop is simpler than you think. Here's how the leasing process works.
Tell us about your needs — what you're making, your materials, volume, and workspace. We'll recommend the right machine and plan.
We look at your space — power, bench, and where the extraction will vent. You get a firm monthly rate and a clear list of what you need to have ready.
We deliver to your North-West Tasmania location, set up the machine, connect extraction, and run a full commissioning check.
Hands-on training gets you cutting confidently on day one. Ongoing support means you're never stuck — just making.
Maker's Edge Laser Co. was born out of a simple frustration: high-quality laser cutters are incredible tools, but the upfront cost puts them out of reach for most small businesses and individual makers.
Based in Devonport on Tasmania's beautiful North-West Coast, we make professional laser cutting accessible through flexible leasing — putting serious capability in your hands without the serious price tag.
We work with schools running Design & Technology and STEAM programs, sign makers going digital, craft studios scaling up, and community workshops that want serious kit without needing someone on staff to look after it.
The lease is the whole point: it's an operating cost, not a capital purchase, so there's no business case to fight through — and when the tube reaches the end of its life, that's our problem, not yours.
